The roofed stadium in the north is the only Düsseldorf venue built for full stadium tours. It staged its first football match in September 2004 and was officially opened in January 2005 with two Herbert Grönemeyer concerts. Called LTU Arena and then Esprit Arena before taking its current name in 2018, it hosted the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. A closable roof and heating keep the interior at 15 degrees or more even in frost. Capacity is about 54,600 for football and up to roughly 66,000 for concerts, depending on the stage layout. The tram station sits right beside the stadium, so allow a buffer after the show.
