Düsseldorf 2027: concerts, sport & events
Confirmed so far for Düsseldorf 2027: 9 concerts, including Five Finger Death Punch (26 Jan), Bullet For My Valentine (27 Jan), Dominic Fike (9 Feb), Cage The Elephant (12 Feb), Megadeth (25 Mar).
Düsseldorf 2027 splits neatly in two. On the Rhine sits an Altstadt whose bar-lined lanes earned the nickname “longest bar in the world”, along with a harbour district of striking modern buildings and a Japanese community you can taste on Immermannstraße. Out in the north, the city's gig cluster puts a roofed stadium, an ice-hockey arena and the trade-fair grounds within a few kilometres of each other.
The Merkur Spiel-Arena can hold around 66,000 for concerts, the PSD Bank Dome up to roughly 15,000, and the Mitsubishi Electric Halle up to 7,500 standing. Smaller nights happen at the Tonhalle, zakk and Stahlwerk, while summer open-airs tend to move to Mönchengladbach's SparkassenPark. Confirmed 2027 shows are listed further down this page.
For football, Düsseldorf is a base rather than a venue: Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and 1. FC Köln are all a short regional-train ride away. Mönchengladbach is about half an hour from Düsseldorf Hbf.
Dates worth noting: carnival's Hoppeditz wakes on 11 November, Rose Monday falls on 8 February 2027 (calculated from Easter on 28 March), boot Düsseldorf runs 23 to 31 January, and the Rheinkirmes is listed for mid-July. The marathon and Japan Day have no 2027 date yet; both are traditionally held in spring.
Book rooms early around trade fairs, check your route home before a stadium night, and remember that many big-event tickets double as public-transport passes within the regional network.
Beyond gigs, the old town's brewery taverns, the riverside promenade and Kaiserswerth's riverbank are easy additions. The airport is in the north and connects to the main station by S-Bahn. If you plan a weekend around a match and a concert, compare the Bundesliga fixtures of the three nearby clubs with the hall dates. Winters are wet and cool, summers often warm, so pack for both.
Walking from the main station to the Altstadt takes about 20 minutes, much less by tram, so a pre-show wander is easy. Accessibility differs by venue; ask the organiser in advance if you need step-free access or seating.

Düsseldorf 2027: FAQ
Which venues host concerts in Düsseldorf 2027?
The Merkur Spiel-Arena, PSD Bank Dome and Mitsubishi Electric Halle are the big ones; Tonhalle, zakk and Stahlwerk are smaller. Open-air shows go to the SparkassenPark in Mönchengladbach. Confirmed gigs appear in the listings on this page, so you can compare capacity and atmosphere before choosing a night out.
How do I get to the Merkur Spiel-Arena?
Take the U78 to Merkur Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord, right beside the stadium. Crowds build quickly after the show, so allow time at the platform or walk a stop further, and check the last train before you go.
When is Rose Monday 2027 in Düsseldorf?
8 February 2027, calculated from Easter on 28 March. Weiberfastnacht falls on 4 February, and the season starts with the Hoppeditz on 11 November. The date is calculated, not announced, so check the committee's programme for parade routes and times.
How does ticketing usually work?
Presale phases come first, then general sale through the big ticketing platforms. Resale can exceed face value. Prices vary by show and seat, so none are quoted here; set a reminder for presale start and book travel once a date is confirmed.
Where should I stay for a gig?
The Altstadt, the area around the main station, Pempelfort or Oberbilk all work. For fairs, carnival or the July funfair, look at Neuss, Ratingen or Duisburg and check the last train back, especially on weeknights.
What's the weather like?
Winters are wet and cool, summers often warm with possible storms. Pack a rain jacket and sun protection for open-air shows and the funfair; the Merkur Spiel-Arena has a roof, which helps in any season.
